Janome Embroidery Sewing Machine Review

I would like to review here the recent Janome Memory Craft MC11000. It seems that a lot of people who love to do quilting have taken to this machine in a big way.

I think this is probably due to the fact that there is such a large work space to the right of the needle, actually more than 9″. This is extremely helpful when you are working on quite a big project.

Janome have managed to streamline the machine and make it more compact by eliminating the bulky attachment needed for embroidery. Instead of which everything needed for embroidery and sewing are actually built in now.

The embroidery hoop area on this machine is a large 8″ x 8″ with the distinction of being one of the largest hoops included with any machine.

Everything on this machine is geared to comfortable working and sewing. The touch screen is just great, it is clear and visible from just about any angle. It is totally adjustable for ease of working.

There are different ways  that you can download new designs to your Janome embroidery sewing machine. It has a link already built in so that you can connect directly with your PC. You can use any standard USB sticks to transfer designs to your machine.

There are now two additional ways of transferring designs, you could buy a Janome optional CD-ROM drive or the Stitchlink, both of which allow the wireless transfer of designs.

In common with the earlier Janome machines the MC11000 allows some stunning stitch capabilities and huge processing power. You can make your own designs by using any combination of stitches from the 307 that are built in.

You are supplied with two embroidery hoops but if you need more these are available as accessories. For regular sewing everything is worked out for you by the machine, the tension, stitch length and width, it tells you which foot you should use and moves the needle into the correct position.

There is a huge selection of decorative stitching and letters and different symbols. When you create any particular sequence of stitches and lettering these can be saved in a memory bank.

Buttonholes, once a bit of a problematic function can now be made fully automatically, simply place the button in the buttonhole foot! This is spookily clever I think. You even have a huge choice of 13 different styles of buttonhole.

Amazingly your Janome embroidery sewing machine MC11000 can fill up another bobbin while you are still sewing so as to be ready when the other bobbin runs out!

Most accessories you will need to do quilting are included as standard with this machine. Would you believe that you can actually produce a genuine French knot – I believed this was only possible to do by hand. There are also literally dozens of beautifully delicate heirloom stitches as well as the French knot.

Even though this machine is amazing and full of brilliant sewing technology it one of the least expensive around.
It is thought that few other companies even come close to the professional standard of computer integration found in the MC11000 series.

I mention that the MC11000 is relatively cheaper than similar machines around, but I have seen it advertised for a whopping 4,495 pounds sterling. I have absolutely no doubt that it is worth every single penny but unless you really do contemplate using this professionally you may balk a bit at this price.

Since the inception of the Janome company in the 1920’s it has been a leader if not THE leader in sewing machine manufacture and they were the first to offer a computerized machine to the public.
